Bell’s theorem was a milestone in quantum foundations, showing that no locally causal theory can reproduce all predictions of quantum mechanics. The violation of Bell inequalities by quantum correlations marks a fundamental departure from the classical view that joint probabilities for all possible measurement outcomes can exist independently of the measurement context.

Our group has contributed to the general theory of Bell inequalities, including the derivation of all such inequalities for multipartite scenarios with two dichotomic measurements per observer. We established conditions under which quantum states violate them and identified entangled states that nevertheless satisfy all of them, showing that entanglement and Bell nonlocality are distinct notions.

This line of research connects the mathematical structure of Bell inequalities with foundational questions about locality and classical notions of reality, as well as with applications in quantum information processing.
