The Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information – Vienna (IQOQI-Vienna) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences conducts theoretical and experimental research on the foundations of quantum physics, quantum information and space-time physics, and explores new possibilities for the construction of devices for quantum communication and quantum computing.

IQOQI-Vienna brings an information-theoretic perspective and a foundational focus into physics questions, aimed at a better understanding of quantum physics, combining it with other physical theories like General Relativity and opening up new avenues in quantum technology.
