Celebrating 20 Years of IQOQI at the Vienna Quantum Foundations Conference

In celebration of IQOQI Vienna’s 20th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of Bell’s Theorem, around 150 participants from all over the world gathered for cutting-edge discussions on the theoretical and experimental frontiers of quantum foundations.

Held during the week of September 23, the event was among the most scientifically vibrant and well-attended conferences IQOQI Vienna has hosted in recent years. With 26 invited talks and about 100 posters, the program covered a wide spectrum of topics in quantum mechanics and fostered lively interactions between senior researchers, early-career scientists, and students.

A notable highlight was the closing day, featuring a retrospective on IQOQI Vienna's pioneering contributions to quantum foundations, an inspiring talk from our Nobel laureate Anton Zeilinger, and the festive Ehrenfest Award ceremony.

We express our gratitude to all contributors and attendees for making the event an exceptional success. Special thanks to our sponsors: the University of Vienna, TURIS, VCQ, beyondC, entropy, and Quantum Science Austria (funded in part by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) 10.55776/COE1 and the European Union – NextGenerationEU).
