Non-classical mediators and gravitational entanglement

We will examine generic tripartite systems in which two probe objects interact via an experimentally inaccessible mediator.

Within this framework, one can demonstrate that the mediator exhibits non-classical correlations with the probes and that mediator-probe interactions do not commute.
We will then analyse the precise extent to which gravity can entangle two quantum masses, emphasising the pivotal role of the force gradient in the entanglement generation.
PS It so happens that the speaker is a recipient of the 2019 IgNobel Prize in Biology, which provides an opportunity to begin the talk with a brief unrelated discussion of magnetic cockroaches.
