Since 1991 the Foundation has been awarding the “Student's Prize“ (€1.500) to physics students who finish their studies within five years with mark “Gut“ or better. Originally established as an incentive to bring down the duration of studies the prize turned into a “silk ribbon of excellence” in physics. By the end of 2003 the prize was awarded to 550 students. Since 2004 the prize has been awarded exclusively for excellence to the “Top ten diploma physicists” at Berlin and Potsdam.
